Jugendwohnnetz Juwo

The Juwo tenants live in all urban areas and neighborhoods of the city, in different neighborhoods and communities. Managing diversity is therefore one of the core competences of the Juwo – read more about this in our current Annual Report on the past year.

Since 01.01.2019 the company Serafe AG is responsible for the collection of the radio and television fees, which entails the following changes:

  • Private households pay CHF 365.00 per year resp. CHF 1.00 per day (as before CHF 450.00 per year).
  • All households in Switzerland are liable to pay the fee, whether there is a device or not.
  • The collective household pays the fee for everyone. Therefore all members of the household are listed on the invoice. They are jointly liable for the fee.
  • The obligation to register is not applicable. Serafe AG receives the household data from the Municipal registration office.

Procedure in case of wrong invoice address:

Anyone who identifies errors in the addressing of the invoice should immediately report this to the Serafe (, which then forwards the information to the Municipal registration office.

Now it’s about finishing the exterior as well as the interior. This work is in full swing.

The majority of apartments are already reserved.
Due to the high demand, a waiting list is kept.

Living at Vulkanplatz is taking its final form and next week the wooden modules will be delivered and set up. The modules will be trucked, stacked and connected to each other within a few days – it works so fast and soon there will be over 130 new places to live in Zurich.

To ensure that the delivery and construction works go on undisturbed and on schedule, we ask you to keep your curiosity in the fence and not to participate in the event.

So that you still do not miss anything, we will update you in the days after with new photos – maybe even with the first interior shots.

On a part of the Vulkanplatz in Zurich-Altstetten – directly at the station Altstetten north – a new housing development grows up. FOGO – vivid home. There are 33 flats built in wooden modules, of which 22 are rented to Juwo tenants and 11 to refugees. Juwo rents its 102 rooms in shared accommodations for 3 or  5 persons. The accommodations are available from December 2018.

The aim is to promote the community and the exchange – a village square atmosphere should arise. The future tenants are offered the opportunity to participate, to initiate ideas and to realize them.
