The City of Zurich intends to transfer the urban property AU 7096 in Zurich-Aussersihl to the foundation Jugendwohnnetz Juwo under building law.

Juwo is planning to rebuild and expand the existing Haus Eber. The 95 living places are rented to young adults in education.

Haus Eber is located opposite the Letzigrund stadium and the slaughterhouse.

The winning project: Lena

The public competition with 117 submitted projects was won by Wild Architekten.

The existing corner building will be renovated and extended on both sides with new buildings. An arcade will connect the buildings with the inner courtyard. The apartments will be built split level with open kitchen-living room and balcony terraces arranged in front. The new building complies with the requirements of the 2000-watt society and the energy parameters in accordance with Minergie-P-ECO.

The project costs amount to CHF 16 million. Priority is given to non-refundable contributions and interest-free or low-interest loans.
